Call for Entries

The Permanent Mission of Grenada to the OAS and the OAS Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) announce an open call to artists of Grenada to submit works of modern and contemporary art. One winning entry will be accorded the high honor of being incorporated into the permanent art collection of the OAS AMA.

This initiative aims to strengthen the OAS AMA permanent art collection by expanding its representation of all OAS Member States. This call for entries is announced as part of the ongoing efforts of the OAS AMA to promote the art of the broad Caribbean region.

This initiative follows the OAS-wide celebration in 2023 of the 50th Anniversary of CARICOM. The AMA continues to curate works in the Caribbean art gallery, organized and presented by the OAS AMA in the OAS Delegate Lounge located in its historic Main Building, known as the House of the Americas, officially recognized by its host country, the United States, as a nationally historic landmark.

Over the course of the history of OAS art exhibitions and collecting, the program has been strengthened by the participation of pioneering and outstanding Pan-Caribbean artists whose works have found homes in our permanent collection. It is now our distinct honor to formally call for artwork representing Grenada as an asset to our art program.

GUIDELINES

Eligibility: Artist must be a national of Grenada

Work Media: Two-dimensional painting, mixed media, photography. (Unable to accept submissions of other media)

Work Size: Not larger than 300 x 300 cm.

Entry Requirements:

A short artist statement (not more than 500 words)

One-to-three high-resolution digital images of the artwork in its completed form (images should be presented in JPEG format with image size set to 300 dpi

resolution, 6″ x 6″ image size, approximately.

Artist Resumé, including biography and exhibition record.

Deadline for Entries: August 1, 2026

Selection Process: The winner will be selected by a panel of four judges by the 1st of September 2026.

Judging Criteria: Entries will be evaluated on their aesthetic, technique, and originality.

Notification to artist: Winner will be notified by email by the OAS AMA | Art Museum of the Americas and the Permanent Mission of Grenada to the OAS

Delivery: Artwork will be transported to the OAS AMA | Art Museum of the Americas. Transportation and insurance costs will be covered by the OAS AMA | Art Museum of the Americas.

Prize: Visit to Washington D.C for formal handover or 1000 USD as may be applicable
