MESSAGE FROM THE AMBASSADOR FOR DIASPORA AFFAIRS

Greetings on the 52nd Anniversary of Independence.

My Fellow Grenadians, at Home and Across the Globe,

On this momentous occasion, as we mark the 52nd anniversary of our nation’s Independence, I extend to you, our vibrant and valued diaspora community, my warmest congratulations and most profound gratitude.

Fifty-two years ago, our forebears raised the flag of courage, determination, and self-governance, forging the destiny of our Spice Isle. Today, that flag flies not only over our beloved Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique but in the hearts of every Grenadian worldwide. Wherever you have planted your roots—in North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, or beyond—you carry the indomitable spirit of our homeland.

Your story is one of remarkable strength and soaring achievement. As engineers and educators, healthcare heroes and cultural torchbearers, entrepreneurs and community pillars, you exemplify the resilience, innovation, and excellence that define the Grenadian character. Your successes are our nation’s successes. Your remittances, investments, knowledge-sharing, and unwavering advocacy provide invaluable fuel for our national progress and form a bridge of opportunity that connects our future.

This anniversary is more than a reflection on history; it is a powerful call of unity and shared purpose. The theme for our 52nd year is ” Anchored in Faith, Guided in Purpose ” , speaks directly to this unbreakable bond. We are one people, whether gazing upon the majestic Grand Etang or a distant skyline. Our journey, although stretched across the globe, remains intertwined. And our future will be built, hand in hand, by all Grenadians.

My Office remains deeply committed to strengthening this vital partnership. We are here to facilitate your engagement, champion your interests, and ensure your voice is always heard in the halls of our national development. I encourage you to continue to reach out, to collaborate, and to explore new ways to contribute your talent and resources to our homeland’s flourishing and transformational agenda.

As we celebrate this golden milestone, i wish to take this special opportunity to inform you that the Government of Grenada has taken a landmark decision to host Grenada’s Diaspora Homecoming 2026 from 21st June – 05th July. That week of activities will create a platform for investment, philanthropy, networking, knowledge sharing, cultural celebration that strengthens the bridge between Grenada and all of its Diaspora communities.

Let us move forward with renewed conviction. Let us draw strength from our shared heritage, from the sacrifices of those who came before us, and from the boundless potential we hold collectively.

The week of activities will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and export Development with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and the Creative Economy,  the Grenada Tourism Authority, our overseas Diplomatic Offices, our local business community, scores of volunteers and many others coming together to celebrate the Nation’s most valuable asset, “our Diaspora”.

On behalf of the Government and people of Grenada, I thank you for your indelible contributions. May God continue to bless you and your families, and may He forever bless and protect our tri-island state.

With unity, pride, and enduring hope, we make this clarion call by saying ” Come Home – Reconnect – Engage – Celebrate!

With warm Regards,
